View this post on Instagram âï¸ #TriYogaSchool âï¸ Our March focus is on strengthening our hamstrings, & our pose for week 4 is Locust Pose, or Salabhasana 🎓 As well as strengthening the hamstrings, Locust Pose also strengthens the back & core muscles, increases flexibility in the spine, & opens the chest. I am showing Salabhasana A; a variation from the Ashtanga Yoga Intermediate series. . 🎓 . ALIGNMENT CUES: #omniyogagirltips 1. The feet are together, with the base of the big toes touching 2. Have the arms straight, with the backs of your hands alongside your thighs, & press them firmly into the mat 3. The legs are straight, with the thighs internally rotating 4. Engage the pelvic floor & keep the lower belly drawn in 5. Think about bringing the shoulder blades down the back, & opening the chest 6. Press your front hip bones into the mat 7. Focus on extending & lifting throughout the whole spine 8. The drishti, or gaze, is towards the nose . 🎓 . Don’t forget to check in with Helen & CeCe for all their tips on Salabhasana 👠.
